Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 October 2026 · Applies to: Notyva for iPhone, iPad and Android, version 1.1 and later
Developer: MVIRAI (“we”, “us”) · Contact: contact@mvirai.com

Notyva is built so that what you write, say and read stays on your phone. We do not run servers that receive your notes, voice, documents or journal, and we do not sell personal data. This policy explains exactly what happens to data in the app — including the one place where a third party (Google’s ad service) receives limited technical data.

1. Your content stays on your device

Notes, to-dos, reminders, alarms, habits, goals, journal entries, attached images and imported documents are stored only on your device, in storage encrypted with AES-256. We never receive them.

2. Microphone and voice

3. Listen (reading aloud)

Text is read by your phone’s own speech engine, on the device. Documents you open in Listen (PDF, Word, EPUB, text) are read on the device; nothing is uploaded.

Human voices (Pro, optional). If you choose to download them, Notyva fetches the voice files once (about 200 MB) from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) and GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com), where the open-source voice is published. These are plain file downloads: no account, identifier, document text or other personal data is sent. Like any website, those services receive your device’s IP address and standard connection details while the files download; their own privacy policies apply to that. Each file is checked against a fixed fingerprint before use. The files are stored in the app’s private storage, are not included in iCloud or Google backups, and can be removed at any time in Listen → Voice → Remove human voices. The speech itself is generated on your phone; your text never leaves it.

4. Documents from other apps (“Open in / Share to Notyva”)

When you open or share a document into Notyva, the app copies it into its private temporary storage, extracts the text on the device, and deletes the copy. If you save it as a note, only the text is kept, in your encrypted notes.

5. Photos

Photos are chosen with the system photo picker; Notyva sees only the photos you pick. Images you attach to notes are copied into the app’s private storage. Photos you scan for text are not kept.

6. Scan to text

7. Advertising (free plan and trials)

The free version, and free trials until the first payment, show ads from Google AdMob. We request non-personalised ads and Notyva does not ask permission to track you across other companies’ apps. To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects:

This data is collected by Google, encrypted in transit, and handled under Google’s Privacy Policy and “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. Paid subscribers do not see ads.

8. Purchases and subscriptions

Payments are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your card or payment details. The app checks which subscription is active by asking the store on your device. It does not create an account with us.

9. Notifications, alarms and widgets

These are scheduled locally on your device. Home-screen widgets show content from your device only.

10. What we do not do

We have no user accounts, no analytics service of our own, no server database of user content, and we do not sell or share your content. The only downloads the app makes on its own are ads (section 7), store purchase checks (section 8) and, only if you ask for them, the human voice files (section 3).

11. Children

Notyva is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Your rights

Because your content is stored only on your device, you control it directly: edit it, export it, or delete it in the app. For data collected by Google for advertising, use Google’s controls and your device’s advertising settings. You can contact us with any privacy question at contact@mvirai.com. These rights apply whether you are covered by India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU/UK GDPR, or other laws.

13. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
